Got the crockpot going today with a pork loin roast in it along with sauerkraut, onions, bay leaves and Brussels sprouts. (didn't have any cabbage so brussel sprouts are my substitute "go to".)

Grew up with this dish and love it. The flavors eventually mellow out and blend into something very unique and delicious.
I'll add some small, peeled potatoes after it all cooks down and when the roast can be divided in two.... because I may have to divide it up between two crockpots in order to fit those potatoes in.
Sometimes I'll even use Bavarian Saurkraut because it is sweeter and has caraway seeds in it for extra flavor. (Love THAT one on hotdogs, kielba...
