I’m from the Houstoun (Houston) Family that moved from Scotland to settle Savannah, Ga. Sir Patrick Houstoun was my 7th great grandfather and from what I read on one site his wife Priscella was Lineal...I’m from the Houstoun (Houston) Family that moved from Scotland to settle Savannah, Ga. Sir Patrick Houstoun was my 7th great grandfather and from what I read on one site his wife Priscella was Lineal descendant of Oliver Cromwell. Sir George Houstoun was my 6th and his brother Was John Houstoun the first Mayor of Savannah and the second Governor of Georgia. My 3rd Great Grandfather was Civil War Artillery Captain Patrick Houstoun who married Martha Branch. She was the daughter of John Branch who served as U.S. Senator, Secretary of the Navy, the 19th Governor of the state of North Carolina, and was the sixth and last territorial governor of Florida. Tons of more cool things I’ve found if anyone is interested. I would love to learn all I can. I served 13 years in the US Army and went on 4 combat deployments, my grandfather Edward A Houstoun III was an Ariel Gunner in WW2 and served in the pacific where he received a Purple Heart and the Navy across. I just found our family history about 5-6 months ago and as I stated earlier I’d love to learn about all of you. My last duty station was Fort Stewart right outside of Savannah and I had no idea. I put a down payment down on a home on the same land our family settled and will be moving back March 1 2019 if anyone wants to come visit you’re more than welcome.
