Jan Silverthorne Urban

I descend from several Scottish lines. My mother was a McRae (MacRae), and my father's mother was a Cahoon (Colquhoun). Other direct lines are MacCotters, MacPhearsons, and MacKenzies. Although I don't yet know the exact years my ancestors immigrated, all indications are that they arrived sometime in the early 1700s, settling first in the Carolinas, then my mother's side migrated south to Alabama and Mississippi. Hoping to learn more about my ancestors lives, Scottish history and what it's like to live in Scotland today. Happy to be a member!
