I am Sharon Florence. I was born and live in US. My mother's parents were born and raised in Scotland. They immigrated to Canada after WWI. They met in Windsor,Ontario and shortly married and moved to...I am Sharon Florence. I was born and live in US. My mother's parents were born and raised in Scotland. They immigrated to Canada after WWI. They met in Windsor,Ontario and shortly married and moved to Detroit,Michigan. They raised 4 children. My Grandmother's name was Janet Kerr and was raised in Edinborough. She paid for her fare to Canada by working as a nanny for a Dr moving his family to Canada. My Grandfather was William Dunlop he was a coal miner from near Glasgow who was placed in the mines as a small child.He developed Rickets due to lack of Sunlight and fresh milk. Even then he was carried into the mine to work by an older brother. He joined the British Army and fought in France. He was injured and was in a British field hospital in France when the war ended. He had sworn never to go into the mines again, so immigrated to Canada. He was only 5'3" and terribly bow legged due to Rickets as a child. I remember as a child how much I enjoyed their accents.
