Proud to be a descendant of Scottish ancestors who left their homeland to brave the perilous Atlantic Ocean to start a new life in America. The majority of my ancestors came to America before we fought our War of Independence from England. It was this fighting spirit that created a new country out of a wilderness. I am honored to be their granddaughter (many greats).
I research my family tree with a fire to not only determine who my ancestors were but why were they driven to leave the familiar and embark on an adventurous journey to wild America. I attempt to trace their footprints and explore to understand them and their lives. What were their motives? Crossing the Atlantic in the early 1700's was a difficult task. Such men and women from my Scottish, German and Irish ancestors assisted in carving out the United States of America. I am proud to carry their DNA.
