Woodpecker marks in Ardentinny Forest

evidence of a woodpecker?

That close to the ground! Nah! Looks more like a boring grub of some sort. And quite a few birds will do that sort of damage when they go after the grubs. Woodpeckers like to be high up. Saw two at the Clan Donald Centre on Skye a fe weeks ago.
