Tantallon Castle in East Lothian. It was built by William Douglas, 1st Earl of Douglas around 1350, and it remained a Douglas stronghold for 300 years. It was left in ruins in 1651 by General Monck during the Civil War. In 1699 the ruins were sold to Sir Hew Dalrymple.
