Vindolanda is a Roman fort. We were told there is still absolutely loads to still escavate (200 years worth).

At Vindolanda - recently discovered Britannic settlement, Remains of wattle and daub walls still visible, clay ovens, and mill stone - will have to be covered over again so a rare chance to see this - pretty gob smacking stuff.
-
Closer shot of the walls, all this probably pre dates the Roman Occupation.
