Visits I have to Historic Scotland sites.

Hailes Castle, was built by Hugo de Gourlay, before 1300. Making it one of the oldest constructions of it's kind in Scotland.

The Gourlay's supported the English in the Wars of Independence and, lost their lands to The Hepburn family.

The remains of the Great Hall and, the Hepburn Tower behind.

The East Tower from the castle grounds. Built by the Gourlay family.

Iain SandersHi Liz, it's near the town of Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland. -
Seton is one of Scotland's finest surviving churches. Building started in the 12th century.

By the 15th century, it was increasingly being used by the Seton family. The local Lairds. George, 3rd Lord Seton was killed at the Battle of Flodden and, is buried here.

In the 1780's the Seton estate passed to the Earl of Wemyss.They restored it as their burial place and, placed it instate care in 1948.

This area was used for the domestic quarters.

In the aftermath of the 1715 Jacobite rebellion. Seton church was ransacked.
