I have just learned that I am 48% Scottish thanks to my DNA tests. I also have been researching my family through familysearch.org. While doing research I have found many ancestors from Scotland. The closest one I have found to date is William Buchannan (my 8th Great Grandfather) who moved to the United States. His father George Andrew Buchannan moved from Scotland to Ireland after selling Blairlusk to his brother in 1674. His father was Sir John Buchannan, 1st Lord of Blairlusk. His mother was Elizabeth Livingstone and her mother was Lady Agnes Douglas of Morton. Their family is part of Clan MacLea.
