I started with my Native American blood only to find out that it was a McCullaugh (many spellings of McCulloch in USA) that told many Cherokee and Blackfoot natives that Scot Clans are like Native families in their tribes. As I started researching my Native side it was my Shaman (medicine man) who told me the vision I had was showing me the way to heal from my military service and other traumatic events throughout life was to get in-touch with my roots. I finished the Native American journey about 25 months ago, took a few months to just fish and travel, and now have hit a wall in my research with my 15th great-grandfather, Archibald McCulloch, BIRTH abt. 1455 in or about Ardwell, Dumfries, Galloway in Scotland; DEATH 9 SEP 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England.
Therefore, if any of you have any other information about Archibald McCulloch I would be very appreciative if you could share.
Additionally, my native grandmother could not read or write so when my father was born the register spelled McCullough with an "a". Ellis Island in New York is who caused the variations in the original McCulloch spelling. Took me a long time to find the proof of my surname. It has been a wonderful journey though.
I love cultures and should know my own so any help would be much appreciated.
