Mary An...Hi, my name is DeLoyce Montgomery,I have been researchin myMaternal Grandmother's family. My maternal Grandmother's, maternal Grandmother was from the Clan McGilvray front the Isle of Skye. Mary Ann McGilvray, hence the name change when her paternal Grandfather's family came to the United States and lived in North Carolina, but then settled in Mississippi. Mary Anne McGilvray's father was John Angus McGilvray and his father was John MacGillvray, who brought his family and close friends the McLeod's in the early 1800's. It was said that the Clan MacGillvray split, one half settled in the America and the other half sailed to Canada. This last summer, I met a Sue McGilvray from Canada, and she confirmed it. Several years ago I was told there is a book that tells about all of the history of the McGilvray's. It is called "The MacGillvray's of Skye. Please if anyone has any information on this book about aquiring one, please let me know!! IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! !!!
