During Homecoming Scotland 2014, visitors will be given the keys to visit some very special places!
Every September, throughout Scotland, Doors Open Days gives free access to places normally closed to the public, including private castles, idyllic cottages and ultra-modern eco-houses.
Doors Open Days is Scotland's largest festival celebrating heritage, architecture and civic pride. It has run since 1990 and involves communities throughout Scotland. Popular amongst locals and wily tourists, over 65,000 people take advantage of the chance to get into sites normally off limits to visitors. And all for free!
