Scotland's Festival Of History 2014
Step back in time and explore over 2000 years of history at Scotland's largest re-enactment event!
Meet your ancestors as more than 500 costumed re-enactors from across Europe stage Scotland's largest ever history show. Walk back in time more than 2000 years, from the Iron Age Caledonia and Romans to medieval knights and Napoleonic soldiers, to those who fought in the US Civil War and WW1 and 2.
Visit the living history camps which show how our ancestors lived. Watch arena battles and skirmishes, weapons displays, an international longbow tournament for a silver arrow and performances by jesters and jugglers.
Children can join a circus skills workshop and there are lots of other hands-on activities for all the family. There will also be historic music, dance and song, ancient craft displays and a large colourful medieval tented historic market, as well as modern craft, gifts, a food and drink market, and much more!
All of this is set in 500 acres of stunning parkland with country walks, a children's playpark, free admission to the historic house, free parking. Bus stop and railway station at park entrance. A fun way for all ages to explore the ages.
The sights, sounds and smells of the past come alive - this is as authentic as it gets!
