Jardine Gathering - August 17th, 18th

It's time for Jardines to meet in south west Scotland again. This year's Gathering is in Dumfriesshire in the middle of August and everyone connected with the Jardine family name is welcome to be with the Jardine Clan Society for a weekend of family and fun.

On Saturday August 17 we'll be at the Border stronghold of Drumlanrig Castle for the Galloway Country Fair to enjoy the best of Scots competition, games, food and drink with craftwork and traditional skills on show. Then on Sunday August 18 there'll be a service at the old Jardine Kirk of Applegarth and the chance to look for ancestors in the churchyard followed by a trip to the Jardine border keep at Spedlins Castle.

In the early evening the clan society gathers at the Cairndale Hotel in the middle of Dumfries for old and new friends to meet and maybe add members to our growing record of family trees at the annual general meeting. With traditional hospitality the hotel is providing a dinner for us with entertainment and dancing for the rest of the day.

Jardines have taken their families with their abilities and talents all over the world. Now here's a chance to get back to where so many started to join those of us who haven't travelled so far from the western Scots Border country. The chief and his family look forward to seeing you in Dumfries in August this year.
