HI. I'm new to this...I live in Leamington, Ontario, Canada & I'm a Craig by birth. My grandfather was William Wallace Craig. He married a woman named Muriel "Becky" Hutchins. It turns out that I rece...HI. I'm new to this...I live in Leamington, Ontario, Canada & I'm a Craig by birth. My grandfather was William Wallace Craig. He married a woman named Muriel "Becky" Hutchins. It turns out that I recently acquired a small part of my ancestry; someone authored a book in 1998 on the Hutchins line. I'm descended from Colin Hutchins & Luella Reive. But Colin remarried to a Gudrun (Norwegian woman) after Luella passed away. I don't know anything about my Craig ancestry. I was never told anything; the family was not involved with me & my grand-dad William Craig died when I was a wee, wee tot (15 mo's old). I only know vague bits that we originate from France as part of the Huguenots. Fled during the revolution into Scotland. But I'm Scottish as descended from William Wallace Craig. He came to Canada from Scotland. The little ancestry I have knowledge of now is about my "English" side as descended from Hutchins lineage. My 4 or 5x's great-grandfather (Hutchins) was one of the first settlers in Canada, situating in Manitoba around 1749. Around 1780 they came to Ontario (Niagara) & from there on around 1800 settled in Colchester township. A region not far from Amherstburg, along the Detroit River. This whole area is historically well known_The War of 1812. There is a small cemetery in Colchester, Ontario containing the 4 pioneer settlers of the area...all of whom are my BLOOD ancestors (great-great & great-grt-grt-grandparents). I'm looking to find out about my CRAIG heritage...I also have Graham, Robinson & Haskell in me from my mother's side (there's some German mixed in on my mother's side from the Pennsylvania Dutch. I suspect one of the Enlgish lasses married a German Hession Soldier & my mother's lineage comes from there)...but on my da's side I only know that I am Craig & Hutchins. My children have Irish & Scottish mixed into them from their father (my ex-husband is Scottish; he is a Kennedy by birth).
