my mother is a descendant of Shaw MacDuff or 1st Chief of MacKintosh, who was a younger son of Duncan, the Thane or Earl of Fife, who was a descendant of Kenneth MacAlpin
Today the clan Shaw is recognised as a line of unbroken continuity to the ancient earls of Fife.
