Hello My Granny was a McAfee, that is the way they spelled it. Through my research it seems we are the same Clan. If anyone can help me with more info please contact me. My Great Grandpaw was Bonnie McAfee. My other Great Grandpaw was Christoper Columbus Maxwell. I would love to piece the history together. I would love to know other Clan members. I am so proud of the Scot blood in my veins. I dream of Colonsay, this lass wants to feel the soil of her home.
Thank you! I'm looking for as many alternate spellings as possible. Hoping to unlock a few more doors. I like to think no matter how it is spelled we all are a Clan. I want to meet and share family histories with others. There are so few McAfee's of any spelling where I live.
From what I understand my Great Grandpa (Martin McPhie) came into the United States with his twin brother James and two other brothers, two sisters and their mother. The story is that my grandpa was fighting with his twin brother and that is when the name McPhie and McPhee were settled on...I do not...
From what I understand my Great Grandpa (Martin McPhie) came into the United States with his twin brother James and two other brothers, two sisters and their mother. The story is that my grandpa was fighting with his twin brother and that is when the name McPhie and McPhee were settled on...I do not know what the other family members took but the twins took the different spellings and I think they all took different paths into the new world. I am searching for this with my family before they pass taking this rich and wonderful history with them. I want to know of any family in Scottland and make this dream trip...
That is so interesting! I've heard other families did that too. I wish I had gotten more info from my grandparents. They did tell me lots of stories. I think that is what created an interest. Then for over 40 years I've gone to clean the graves of Bony (Bonnie) and Claudie. His siblings and his Dad....

Then for over 40 years I've gone to clean the graves of Bony (Bonnie) and Claudie. His siblings and his Dad. So I "knew" of them but got to where I wanted to know more. I too dream of Scotland! I want to go to Colonsay and walk the island of my ancestors. Who knows somewhere along the road we may find a common ancestor!

To garden her and the other kids carried pails of dirt and water up. Looking at census records the area was settled by Scots, Ulster Scots and Irish. It's so isolated it's still like going back in time. Decoration Day is Sat. the cemetery is on a peninsula now. It's called Bonds Cemetery some graves I've posted to Find A Grave. I have had so much help from other volunteers there I help too. Where do you live?
I live in Pinedale, Wyoming (about 45-60 minute to Jackson Hole)Mountians are my thing...I'm from Idaho, I've always lived in the mountians. So interesting what was needed to survive. Do you know how the winters were?
The photos I've seen of Jackson Hole are breathtaking! I do not like winter. LOL This 100 today is easier on me. We do get a few bad winters. But nothing like you do. I've read about some of the Scottish winters being extremely bad. I wonder if that caused some to leave. I find it interesting that t...

I guess once a Highlander always a Highlander.
That is cool "I'm a Highlander!" When I got up this morning it was 29' Summer is over! LOL I can't handle the heat very happy in the 60s. It is beautiful here, everyday is different...mountians are just amazing. I'm hoping that I will get dates and names today from my little Anutie...
