Hey Sharie, what a great name for a genealogist ... all the ones I know just love to share. In fact, I once described a meeting of genealogists as a shareathon! Have a look at my An Diasporran page, and send me an email address and I can send you more info!
Oh, gosh! Um, I think, if yo look at my prodile page, i will be down on the right hand side, similar sort of place as you find the clan pages. I get kind lost sometimes :D
Is that Keppoch, Arisaig, or the Mac Donnells of Keppoch (largely around Brae Lochaber - Spean / Roy Bridge / Laggan, etc)? I take it you know of the Maritime Mosaic, and the Mabou Pioneers group? Ah, right, Keppoch is from Gàidhlig, ceapach, whish is not an uncommon placename, meaning a plot of land Graeme MacKenzie of Highland Roots in Inverness may be able to help. My granny was born to an unmarried mother (MacGregor) in the Borders. Her father was an Irish soldier (I think) and the family disapproved of him. When my granny was born, her mother's family forced her to give her up for adoption. Not unusual in those days apparently. So she was adopted by MacKenzies in Onich. Her mother turned her face to wall and died of heartbreak shortly after. Anyway, she was given a good home, and was well cared for by her adopted parents.

It's too late for me to keep up
How did your Granny come to be raised by MacKenzies?
