On the 3rd of April, 1603, Scotland's James VI travelled to London to take up the English throne, after the death of his cousin Elizabeth I the previous month.
The 26th of March, 1031, saw the birth of future Scottish king Malcolm III.
On the 24th of March, 1603, Elizabeth of England died without issue leading to James VI of Scotland to become king south of the border, and see a union of crowns between Scotland and England.
