Hi, it seems that Peter Udney of Tillery is also my ancestor. I guess he's my 11th GGF if I counted correctly. My aunt has researched our family tree for many years, and couple days ago she sent me a list of ancestors of Juhan Ludvig Anttonen (my GGF) and I realized that I have long list of Scottish ancestors through Peter Udney. I've wanted to visit Scotland for many years, now I feel I definitely must visit there soon!
Looking forward to visiting Scotland in May! Trip is now booked, the plan is to drive around for a week and visit at least Aberdeenshire (Aberdeen & Udny), Inverness (also Loch Ness of course), Loch Lomond & Trossachs, Glen Coe and Stirling. Can't wait!
It was great, but too little time to really see all the places we planned. Driving around took more time than anticipated so next time maybe better to concentrate more on some area and drive around less...
Local resident Christine Smith told me on FaceBook: The castle was owned by Mrs Bellhaven, many years ago when she died the castle was turned into private residences, there is now someone living in the lodge, you can still walk through the grounds.
